Eve Bonham has a new book, NECTARINES which is due to be published on 1st October 2026. 

Eve’s fifth book of fiction is entitled Nectarines and is a Collection of Short Stories and Flash Fiction.  Eve has been writing fiction for over 20 years and is the author of five books – including three novels: To the End of the Day, The Lost Journey Homeward and Dear Magpies, and two collections of short stories: Madness Lies and and the forthcoming book: Nectarines.

Like a bowl of nectarines, these stories – deliciously readable, full of colour, flavour and promise – encompass broken dreams, calf love, hospital humour, poisonings, fractious families, and love affairs. Surprising characters inhabit these tales: a virgin and her lawyer, a loan shark, a wife who steals, a boy who dreams of rats, Dublin landladies, amateur robbers, a poet’s daughter and a frustrated cook. Curious activities include building an igloo, star gazing, wife/tree hugging, ship journalism in mid-Atlantic, sewing in prison, spying by telescope, and creating a soap opera. In startling, versatile micro-fiction, readers will encounter a bull that cried, a snub on a train, an alluring temptation, a dark theatre, a severed ear and, in the title story, a small but perfect nectarine.

Eve has worked as a journalist, a lecturer, a fine art auctioneer, a retailer and a teacher, has undertaken property investment and management, and has been involved with charities and community projects. She has sailed across oceans and travelled across continents, and she now lives in Dorset with her husband. She is a Christian, a writer and an artist.
